My family travels A LOT. Whether it's road trips, weekend trips, flights to toher states or countries, there are certain things that I take with me no matter what.

Suitcase: My go to carry on is a silver Ricardo Beverly Hill's rolling hardshell suitcase. I got mine from Costco because it was fairly inexpensive, and extremely durable. It has a lot of space (we went to Canada for three weeks and I fit everything I needed in that and my second carry on bag), and fits the carry on requirements for most if not all airlines.

Carry-On: Since most airlines allow you to take on a second carry on bag, I alternate between two bags. I use the Kate Spade cedar street medium harmony tote in grace blue ($298) when I need a bit more room for my things (usually used on longer trips). When it is a shorter trip, or I don't need as many things in a second bag, I use the Longchamp 'Small Le Pliage tote in Bilberry ($125).

I don't usually check a bag since everything has the ability to be a carry on, and I can fit all of my stuff in it.
